ONE MINUTE
~ Discover the “Kotatsu” : The Japanese Heated Table You’ll Never Want to Leave ~
It’s getting colder little by little, isn’t it?
Should we turn on the heater soon?
Are you cold? I’m not that cold yet, but Pecco isn’t good with the cold, right?
Oh, why don’t we use the “kotatsu“?
“Kotatsu“? What’s that?
In Japan, there’s a “dreaded” table that many people say you can’t escape once you get inside it.
I can’t escape?! Is the table going to eat me?!
No way, I don’t want that!
Haha, no no not haunted! Just too comfortable.
Once you put your legs inside, you’ll never want to leave.
I’ve never actually experienced a “kotatsu” myself,
but I’ve seen it in Japanese manga and anime!
At first glance, it looks totally harmless but it’s actually a traditional Japanese heating appliance.
A small electric heater is attached underneath the table, and a thick futon traps the warm air.

“Kotatsu” are usually in living rooms or Japanese style rooms,
and families sit around them to watch TV, eat snacks, or take naps.
Because it warms only a small space, it’s very energy efficient.
So it’s warm… comfy… and perfect for naps?
I want one right now!!!
I want to try too!
Alright. Then let’s get the “kotatsu” ready.
But… don’t use the bathroom inside the kotatsu, okay?
Hey, that’s rude. Don’t worry, I know that!
Summary
“Kotatsu” is a traditional Japanese heated table with a warm futon blanket that people use to stay cozy during winter. It’s so comfortable that many say once you enter, you never want to leave.
